The streaming landscape in Britain is set to get even bigger with the arrival of Paramount + UK in June 2022. Launching on June 22, the service will house movies and TV for kids and adults and will have its own standalone app, as well as being available to Sky Cinema subscribers through the platform of that service.
There are a slew of TV and movie offerings on the new service for its launch, spearheaded by the blockbuster areola TV series and a selection of South Park specials. Viewers will also be able to immerse themselves in the world of New Hollywood with limited series The ofertexploring the creation of The Godfather.

In front of archival movies, there’s a chance to revisit Grease ahead of their upcoming TV spin-off, as well as most Star Trek world of cinema, old and new. Meanwhile, Tom Cruise fans still bask in the glow of Top Gun: Maverick can see two of his most recent outings, with Jack Reacher and the highlight of the franchise Mission: Impossible – Fallout Effect.

In the 2000s, retired math genius Jerry Selbee discovered a loophole in the workings of his state lottery. With the help of his wife Marge, he turned this into an extremely successful money-making scheme, making the most of the ways similar lotteries worked in other states to win millions of dollars. Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening play the couple in this truth-based comedy directed by The devil Wears Prada director David Frankel.
South Park: The Streaming War
South ParkParamount+’s third television movie – the other two are also on the service’s UK release list – The streaming wars takes place in the midst of a drought, exploring issues related to agriculture and climate change.

As you’d expect given the title, this also provides creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone with a way to explore the various competing streaming services vying for viewers’ attention.
Beavis and Butt-Head make the universe (June 24)
Mike Judge returns to his classic ’90s lazy characters in a full-length animated adventure Beavis and Butt-Head make the universe. The sci-fi setting sends the title characters into space as part of a poorly conceived public relations move. They are soon transported to a parallel universe version of 2022 through a wormhole, causing exactly the kind of childish chaos you’d expect from Judge and his creations.

After years of speculation, video game franchise areola finally makes the leap to the small screen with the series by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane, which counts Steven Spielberg among its executive producers. Pablo Schreiber plays the game franchise’s protagonist Master Chief in a story set in a 26th century conflict between the human race and the alien Covenant – not to be confused with Alien: Alliancethankfully.
The First Lady (all episodes at launch)
Three of the most famous first ladies in US history take center stage in this drama series, exploring their impact on the presidency. bird box Director Susanne Bier occupies the director’s chair, with Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford and Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt. Her husbands are played by OT Fagbenle, Aaron Eckhart and Kiefer Sutherland, respectively.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (episode 1-3 at launch, then weekly)
Taking place in the years before Captain Kirk took command of the Enterprise, this Star Trek series focuses on Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike. Mount was introduced to the role during the second season of Star Trek: Discovery, but here it takes center stage in the lead. Ethan Peck returns as Spock, with Rebecca Romijn also returning as number one.
The Man Who Fell to Earth (episode 1-3 at launch, then weekly)
Getting into the shoes of David Bowie is no easy task, but that’s what Bill Nighy expects in this new adaptation of the Walter Tevis novel. Ejiofor plays another alien who arrives on Earth at a pivotal moment in the planet’s history, while Nighy takes on the role of Bowie in Nic Roeg’s 1976 film version. Naomie Harris plays a gifted scientist who interacts with the newcomer.

Paramount+ delves into one of the studio’s biggest success stories in this version of the production of The Godfather, based on producer Al Ruddy’s memoir. Miles Teller plays Ruddy as he obtains the rights to Mario Puzo’s mafia tale and subsequently navigates the piranhas of not only Hollywood but the criminal underworld as well. The cast also includes Matthew Goode, Juno Temple and Burn Gorman, with Dan Fogler playing Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola.
Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber (episode 1-3 at launch, then weekly)
In Apple’s wake We Crashed, and Disney+ the abandonment comes another series looking at the meteoric rise of a company and its eccentric creators. Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars here as Uber CEO Travis Kalanick and explores the board coup that later brought him down.
Kyle Chandler plays Kalanick’s mentor, while Uma Thurman stars as Uber board member and Huffington Post founder Ariana Huffington.

sicario Screenwriter Taylor Sheridan has joined forces with Headstones rocker Hugh Dillon for this crime thriller series starring Jeremy Renner. O Hawk Eye the actor plays Mike McLusky, who presides over a Michigan town where incarceration is the main industry. It is a grim look at the dynamics of power, corruption and racism in the US justice system.
1883 (all episodes at launch)
Another Taylor Sheridan portmanteau, this series serves as a sort of origin story for Kevin Costner’s series. yellowstone. It focuses on western expansion and follows the Dutton family as they try to reach the promised land of Montana. Western expert Sam Elliot leads the cast, alongside Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.
Along with its spin-off, the first three seasons of yellowstone will be available to stream on launch day.
Icarly (all episodes of S1 at launch)
Miranda Cosgrove returns to one of the roles that made her famous in this reboot of Icarly. With social media even more ubiquitous now than when Carly launched her show on the web, she decides to relaunch it in her mid-20s. Laci Mosley is a newcomer to the cast as Carly’s roommate and best friend.
All Star Shore (episode 1-2 on June 30, then weekly)
A type of Avengers: Endgame For reality TV fans, this series takes a load of famous faces from the reality circuit and tasks them with playing party games in the Canary Islands. It’s not a bad show if you can get it. The cast includes Joey Essex, Chloe Ferry and cult RuPaul’s Drag Race Race success story Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo.
