Marvel’s ‘She-Hulk’ Moves To Thursday Release On Disney+

A new premiere and release date for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series, “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” was announced Wednesday during the streamer’s presentation at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour.

Instead of premiering on its originally announced premiere date of Wednesday, August 17, “She-Hulk” will premiere Thursday, August 18. The nine-episode comedy series will launch weekly on Thursdays, marking a shift in strategy.

The move marks the continued expansion of Disney+ programming. While certain hit series like “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, “Ms. Marvel” and “The Book of Boba Fett” premiered new episodes on Wednesdays, the second season of “The Mandalorian” introduced new chapters on Fridays, a day that Netflix has long dominated with its own new releases. “She-Hulk” will be the first Marvel series to release new episodes on Thursdays.

In “She-Hulk,” Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) – a lawyer specializing in legal cases aimed at superhumans – must navigate the complicated life of a 30-something single woman who is also 6-foot-3 green. Superpowered Hulk. The series will welcome a number of MCU veterans, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination and Benedict Wong as Wong. The show’s trailer also hinted that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil is appearing following his reintroduction to the MCU in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

“She-Hulk” also stars Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry. The series was directed by Kat Coiro (episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9) and Anu Valia (episodes 5, 6, 7) with Jessica Gao as head writer. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Coiro and Gao.

Disney+ also revealed premiere dates for several other new and recurring series:

“Growing Up”, created by Brie Larson and Culture.House, will be released on September 8th. The hybrid documentary series that explores the challenges, triumphs and complexities of adolescence through ten compelling coming-of-age stories.
