Meryl Streep is celebrating her 73rd birthday today and fans have been pondering the secret to her seemingly ageless beauty.
O Mama Mia! The star is marking her special day today, June 22nd, and it seems to be aging backwards, not that she’s obsessed with it.
While many stars focus on looking younger, Streep has always fully embraced her age and her effortless natural beauty hasn’t gone unnoticed by her fans who are eagerly celebrating “National Meryl Day” on social media.
Among the best wishes for the iconic actor is a whole collection of intriguing messages about how Streep might be in his eighth decade.

A fan shared a side-by-side photo of 27-year-old Meryl and one of her today and it looked like the Devil Loves Prada former students hardly aged.
“Okay… this is what is called aging [sic] beautifully,” wrote one user in response to the images.
Another asked others to consider how old Streep is.
“It’s Meryl Streep’s mf day and this woman is 73 years old, let it happen,” the Twitter user wrote.
Fans previously commented that Streep was “aging [sic] like a fine wine”, and they are certainly not wrong, but the Big Lies actor was not always so self-confident in his appearance.
“I didn’t have any confidence in my beauty when I was young,” she once revealed. “I felt like a character actress, and I still do.”

She’s learned to rid herself of any worries about the so-called glitches, though.
“My advice: don’t waste so much time worrying about your skin or your weight. Develop what you do, what you put your hands on in the world,” she said.
“I think the most liberating thing I did at the beginning was free myself from any concerns about my appearance when it comes to my job.”
Despite being hailed as one of the best actresses in the world with two Oscars, seven Golden Globes, two Emmys and many more to her name, Streep used to fear that she wasn’t pretty enough to make it in Hollywood.
Upon accepting an honorary doctorate from Indiana University in April 2014, the star spoke about her early insecurities.
“I thought I was too ugly to be an actress,” she told a college audience of 3,200, according to the Indianapolis Monthly.

She added that perceived differences need not stop him: “The people who look different are the ones who are (hired). I used to hate my nose. Now I don’t. It’s okay.”
As she grew older, however, Streep feared that her age might also hold her back.
“I remember when I was in my 40s, I thought every movie would be my last, really,” she told WSJ magazine in 2016.
“And all the evidence from other 40-year-old women back then — 27 years ago — would lead you to believe it’s over.”
Instead, the star is continually putting on incredible performances on screen and rocking her effortless style and beauty.

According to journalist Fi Glover, the Out of Africa star refrains from touching her face to keep her skin radiant.
Miss Glover once attended a party with the award-winning actor and revealed to the Fortunately podcast that she had shared her beauty trick.
“Do you know what Meryl said to me that night?” she said, as reported by daily mail. “We were talking about beauty tips, it was a fascinating night, full of political discussion and engagement.
“She said her only beauty secret was to never touch your face. She never touches your face.”
